"DAD! I would like to have the mask actually serve a purpose!" Michael snapped. Stan laughed, a booming sound that probably everyone in the hospital heard.
"He takes it just as seriously."

Liana couldn't help but chuckle and smile at the two of them. "Well... it seems you've done pretty well for yourself since retiring... and it seems your son is no doubt a capable successor to the name."

Michael snickered. Stan stood, turning to Inspector Stone. "I'd like to make a request."
"Yes sir?" Rhea straightened.
"I'd like adoption papers. For Liana." Michael didn't budge, but Rhea's eyes widened.
"Uh, I'll, uh, go make some calls." Rhea ducked out, clearly flustered.

"A-Adoption papers?" Liana asked. "Stan, you know I'm legally supposed to be close to sixty! Do you really think this'll work?" Clearly, the girl was quite surprised, as he had all but adopted her back during the era of the Crackdown. Making it official would have meant having to turn her over back then, but now...

"That's a question for the courts. Your story is already making the news." Michael held out his phone for Liana to read, the headline broadly declaring "MISSING GIRL FOUND. FROZEN IN MOUNTAINS FOR 40+ YEARS."

The girl looked at the phone and sighed. "I thought that this was supposed to be a secret thing, from what I was told when I got here. Guess I was wrong..." she mumbled. "I just want some peace and quiet after all this. Is that too much of me to ask?"

"You have a leak." Michael mentioned as Inspector Stone walked back in.
"I know. I saw the headline." Rhea sighed. "I think I know who it is, too. He'll be dealt with."
"Good thing I'm here then, eh?" Stan laughed again. "I still have my old armor. I can scare off anyone."
"Correction. I keep it clean." Michael noted.

"I should be able to do something. I'd just need to study how your power functions and I might be able to make better gloves for you. For starters, not so bulky." Michael cringed a bit at just how much glove Liana had on.
"We can arrange an MCD escort as well." Rhea offered.
"No need." Stan waved her off.
